Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Andrew
Mendes, a renowned Canadian pharmacologist, becomes entangled in a deceptive plot orchestrated by the China Global Talent Association.
Zayden Liu, representing the association, lures Dr. Mendes into their scheme to exploit his expertise. Under the guise of supporting his research, Amanda Chen assists in obtaining sensitive data from his lab.
As Dr. Mendes complies, he receives substantial rewards but is gradually coerced into establishing a “Sino-Canadian Lab” in China. Unbeknownst to him, this leads to intellectual property theft.
Suspicions arise within his university, prompting an investigation by Canadian intelligence.
Facing interrogation, Dr. Mendes confesses, leading to his arrest and imprisonment. Simultaneously, Zayden and Amanda face charges for visa fraud. The exposure of their scheme triggers heightened vigilance against such threats by Canadian authorities and
institutions.
